However, being successful at it requires more than just sheer talent ? you need to be smart and witty and most of all you must have the guts to go before throngs of people.

Avoid using repetitive materials again and again until the audience can recite your script and get bored. Do not be afraid to try various styles because through this, you will evolve as a good comedian. Try to make a joke out of everything that you can. If you look funny even in the smallest of the situation, you will never be out of material for your act.

Always take control of your audience and avoid having it the other way around because you will never get it back and it will be damaging on your part. If something is not working, move on and make adjustments on the spot to fit your audience.
