When I think about yeast infections, I think about all of the symptoms that go along with it. The itching and burning, the soreness and the finally the discharge that is uncomfortable and embarrassing. There are so many over the counter products to treat yeast infections but if any of them actually worked then why would we need so many? After talking to my doctor about some alternative treatments he recommended that I try these three. Organic Yogurt- This was a little surprising to me, but apparently yogurt has been known to cure yeast infections for years! Therefore wearing tight clothing like tight pants will keep your vaginal area at the perfect conditions for the yeast to live in. Avoid pantyhose, and tight jeans that make you sweaty. Also look at the material your underwear is made from. Synthetic materials do not allow the air to circulate so wear cotton so the skin can breathe. Fashion is certainly not worth recurring yeast infections!

Keep yourself dry: An easy and simple way to help prevent a yeast infection is to keep yourself dry. If the weather is hot and your underwear gets damp change it throughout the day. Do not sunbathe in a wet swimming costume, and after a workout get straight out of those sweaty exercise clothes. After your bath or shower dry the vagina thoroughly and after using the toilet make sure to wipe correctly.

Diet: Sometimes the cause of a yeast infection can actually be an allergic reaction to foods that contain yeast, like beer and bread. Therefore if you find yourself having reactions to such items cut them out of your diet. Try to have a healthy diet low in junk and processed foods, and low in sugars too as this is a source of food for the yeast. Vitamin C is important for keeping your immune system strong, so either take a vitamin supplement or eat more fruits and vegetable that are high in natural vitamin C. Cranberry juice is great to keep yeast infections away too, and plenty of water to flush out toxins.

Anti Candida Diet – Tips On How To Stay Focused

Sticking to an anti Candida diet takes focus and will power, partly because there are foods you are giving up but also because of the difficulties it can create in your social life. Take it easy! If your diet is full of processed, junk and refined or sugary foods, this is going to be a tough change for you. Whatever the reason do not use it as an excuse to give up completely. Just accept it and move on!

Be prepared. Carry snacks around with you just in case that are suitable. If you are going round a friend’s house for a coffee and nibbles, take your own nibbles.

Eat before you leave If you are going to a party fill up on a good sized meal beforehand so that the temptation of finger foods is lessened.

Call ahead: If going out for dinner pick restaurants you know have foods you can eat. If its a restaurant you do not know call ahead or check online. Salads are the thing to fall back on if there is nothing there you can have.

Letting others know Some people do not like to tell people around them about the diet and others don’t care! If you would rather not explain an anti candida diet just say you are on a detox diet, usually people will just accept that and move on but if they question it just blame your doctor or dietitian!
