Evolution of Bluetooth Technology

The vast majority of today’s cell phones and mobile devices come equipped with Bluetooth technology. While most have at least heard the word Bluetooth and have an idea what it is presently used for, many have no idea where the strange name came from or how the technology has been developed over the past decade. Most people also would have a hard time connecting this modern technology to the man who ruled Denmark more than 1,000 years ago. For these reasons, the history of Bluetooth technology is interesting and full of surprises.

According to Viking history, the European region of Scandinavia was in a state of constant upheaval due to numerous feuds and clan wars during the 10th century. As most know, the lives of most Vikings during this time period were filled with war and violence. One king, however, became very well known for his powerful communication skills. Using these skills he was able to bring a sense of peace to Scandinavia and unite Norway and Denmark. This influential ruler was known as King Harald Bluetooth.

In the 1990s, developers in Sweden began working on a system to improve wireless communication. The developers wanted to find a way to simplify and unify wireless communication. Thanks to a history-loving developer and the technology’s roots in Scandinavia, the name Bluetooth was born. This name was originally intended to be used only as a code name while the technology was still in development, but the name stuck and has been used by the company ever since.

Though initial development began in 1994, the idea of Bluetooth technology was officially unveiled and the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) was formed in September of 1998. The Bluetooth SIG is a group made up of the leading members of the telecommunications, network, and computing industries. The members of this group are responsible for the continuous growth and development of Bluetooth technology. In 1999, the first working versions of Bluetooth technology came on the market. At this time, however, the technology was still in its infancy, and it did not take off until a few years later.

In 2003, the Bluetooth SIG announced the complete overhaul of the Bluetooth Core Specification, and in 2004, Version 2.0 with Enhanced Data Rate (EDR) was introduced. This new version drastically increased the speed of data transfer, and it was what truly turned Bluetooth into a common household name. In 2005, devices that were compatible with Version 2.0 + EDR began hitting the shelves around the world. The introduction of Version 2.1 + EDR further revolutionized the technology by making it more secure and easy to use.

This new version also made the pairing of Bluetooth devices easier than ever before. In 2009, Bluetooth Version 3.0 + High Speed (HS) became available. This new version makes transfers even faster whenever WiFi access is available. Finally, 2010 saw the release of Bluetooth Version 4.0. This version supports both high speed and Classic Bluetooth as well as the new low energy protocols. The low energy functionality is intended for very low power applications that run off of a coin cell battery.

The numerous advances to Bluetooth technology since its development just over a decade ago have created a name that is known and used all around the world. Today more than 13,000 companies offer products that are Bluetooth compatible. Possibly the most well-known use of this remarkable technology is in hands free headsets and earpieces for mobile phones. These devices make it easy for people to talk on their cell phone without needing to hold it. Many earpieces can even be worn comfortably when not in use. With more states passing laws that ban the use of hand held mobile devices while driving, hands free Bluetooth earpieces and headsets make talking on a cell phone while on the go legal and safe.

Most of the Bluetooth cell phone accessories currently on the market are compatible with many of today’s most popular mobile devices including the iPhone, Blackberry, and HTC. They are designed to be universal, so they can be used with most of the current models from brands like Samsung, Motorola, Sony, Pantech, LG, and countless others. Their universal nature also means that they can be used with different cell phone carriers. The Bluetooth brand has evolved into a line of accessories and compatible devices that suit the needs of millions of people. As improvements continue to be made to the technology and the devices become more advanced, there is no limit to the potential uses for Bluetooth technology.

Wholesaler MyCoolCell has thousands of high quality cell accessories at exclusive prices for resellers, and carriers, and stock cell phone covers pouches, skins, kingston memory cards, batteries, chargers, otterbox, body glove cases, Bluetooth headsets, and much more. Could The Way Your Computer Look Be What Is Slowing It Down?

Once of the biggest reasons as to why your computer runs slow has to do with your computer being setup to “look pretty”. A lot of your computers resources are being used to make the interface look good and if you were to tune these down, then your computer might be able to run a bit faster.

This holds especially true if you are using Windows Vista since Vista has a lot of unnecessary things that are running in the back ground that are designed to just make the computer look good. Here is how to tune down your computers looks to make it run faster:

If you are running on Windows XP, click on the Start button in the left hand corner of your screen, right click on My Computer and select the Properties option. Click on the Advanced tab and the section that says “Performance” just click on the Settings button. Now once you are in the Visual Effects tab, select “Adjust For Best Performance”. What you are doing here is manually causing Windows XP to look more like Windows 98 so that it will run faster. Now, if you would like your computer to look somewhat good and still fixed to go faster just select the Custom box and make sure that all of the other boxes are checked off. Now just scroll down to the bottom and select “Use Visual Styles On Windows And Buttons”. To finish just select Apply and then OK.

If you are using Windows Vista on your maching stary by clicking on the Start button, right click on Computer and select Properties. In the new window on the left hand side select Advanced System Settings. There will be an advanced tab where it says Performance – click on the Settings button. Now when you are in the Visual Effects tab, select Adjust For Best Performance. This will cause your Windows Vista to look more like Windows 98. If you would like to keep the way that Vista looks, and still have your computers look tuned to be a bit faster, just select the Custom box, make sure that everything is selected and then unselect the little box that says “Use Visual Styles On Windows And Buttons”. Click Apply and then OK.

So exactly how much of a performance boost should you expect? Usually not that much. I have used this technique on a lot of different computers that run both Windows XP and Vista and the results are very different. Usually for the most part, you will see more of a performance boost on the Vista computers, but with Vista this is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of things that you can do to make it faster. For the most part, using this technique has no risk and you can only gain by using it so highly suggest giving it a try.

The Invention Of Cell Phones

Images of old cell phones from the 90s are a surefire way to spark laughter-they are big, cumbersome, and look ridiculously outdated compared to the small gizmos we have today. So it should be surprising to learn that the first conception of crude, mobile phones actually dates all the way back to 1947. Researchers tried to evolve the technology used in walkie talkies. They realized that by using small cells instead of relying on single frequencies they could reuse the same frequencies, and thereby dramatically increase the traffic capacity. In other words, the initial kernel of invention was present, but unfortunately its potential was halted.

The FCC (the organization in the U.S which regulates anything to do with broadcasting or sending television or radio waves) blocked AT & T’s request to allocate a large number of radio spectrum frequencies. This would have provided the groundwork for widespread cell phone use and would have given AT & T incentive to further develop the technology. Under the strict FCC regulations of the time, airwaves only allowed for twenty-three phone conversations to take place at any given time. This mentality was symbolic of the limited understanding of cell phone technology’s potential. In hindsight it looks like a boneheaded decision, but it should be remembered that this was 1947, so the FCC should be at least partially excused for not understanding the full implications of modern communications technology. Still though, the idea lay buried for decades.

It wasn’t until 1973 when Dr. Martin Cooper, former general manager of the Systems division at Motorola, was credited with making the first ever call on a portable cell phone-a privilege he enjoyed as its chief creator. Ironically, the first call was made to the head of research labs at Bell, their chief competitor. Perhaps this was actually fitting since Bell was responsible for inventing the crude mobile phone that was designed to be used in police cars in the 40s. Four years later, Bell created a prototype that was used on trial in Chicago by up to two thousand people. Two years after that, in a completely unrelated venture, a separate operation was undertaken in Tokyo. There was considerable international buzz about the new technology as it went from being something existing only in science fiction to something that would appear imminently.

In 1981 Motorola joined with American Radio Telephone to start a second U.S. cellular telephone system test in Washington and Buffalo. The movement was gaining momentum, and by 1982 the FCC finally authorized commercial cellular services for the United States. Ameritech made the first American commercial analog cellular service available in Chicago. Still, the technology was expensive and it was far from being as accessible as cell phones are today. But by 1987 cellular phone subscribers exceeded one million and airways were crowded.

The 90s brought on a new wave of cell phone technology that ushered in the modern era where one belongs to the average person. Yes, those big 90s clunkers look old, but who would have believed that the cell phone was actually conceived of so many decades ago?

Are Registry Cleaners Really Necessary?

There is a lot of controversy over whether registry cleaners are necessary programs for the optimal performance of your personal computer. Some reviewers claim that they will get your sluggish computer back up to speed quickly. Others say that they are completely unnecessary, and can even cause your system to malfunction or crash.

What a registry cleaner does is scan the computer registry for invalid or corrupt files and unused or outdated drivers, look for missing file associations and remove any problems it encounters. In theory, you will have a quicker loading computer, with programs running faster and smoother. Is this really true, and can these types of programs fulfill their promises? Do they do all this automatically, or do they give you the option of choosing the right actions?

Some experts claim that using a cleaner for your registry is a dangerous step. It can remove files that are actually necessary, such as DLL files, causing your system to crash or programs to malfunction. At best, they see the use of a cleaner gaining a bit of disk space and possible speedier start-up. Most computers today have enough disk space that the possible gain of a few kilobytes is irrelevant. One reviewer has even gone to the extent of calling registry cleaning programs ‘snake oil’.

Many registry cleaners offer a free trial by way of a system scan. This is to induce you to buy the program to clean up the hundreds of errors found. Once you purchase it and run it, you just may find your computer speedier. However, you also may find it functions even less optimally that before. The program may have removed some necessary and critical entries, causing your new problems. In any case, you may even notice it runs slower, because the registry deletions have fragmented it.

Most of the registry cleaners on the market claim that you will need to run the program periodically in order to keep your registry clean and free of errors. However, just because there are a few orphaned entries and files, they do not affect your computer’s speed or performance in a noticeable way. It may even mark some ‘good’ files as bad, and schedule them for removal.

Manual repair or alteration of your registry is a much safer way to go, if you are experiencing a problem. If your computer skills are not up to the task, then go hire an expert, or just leave it. With scant real data behind their claims, you should not trust software programs reviews.

Instead, to avoid problems, install only licensed programs to your system, and keep them up to date. Back up your critical data regularly. Be very cautious about installing and uninstalling trial or beta software programs. Always have a good anti-virus and malaware system running, and keep its files updated. Regularly defragment your system and delete temporary files. Just these simple stems will keep your system cleaner, and you won’t need to consider the dilemma of whether or not to use registry cleaners.

Are you stressed over registry cleaners that don’t work and delete files that are important? Well, with our software, you won’t have to worry. If you want to know more you need to read our registry cleaners reviewed article.

A Small Understanding Of Choosing Registry Cleaners

It is easy for anyone to understand that there is a large variety of registry cleaners that can be purchased to treat computer problems. Different programs will be able to offer varying options for the treatment of the problem. But if you are not experienced with these types of programs, you may be unsure about what you should use. Some of the accompanying information may be able to help you understand the use of these programs further.

For the most part, when there are repeated issues occurring on a computer, it is likely because of the registry. This can happen when there have been numerous programs installed into the computer, which later edit the registry in some format. If the registry never updates after the deletion of these programs or there are too many conflicting keys in the registry, it results in problems.

In order to treat the problem, registry cleaner programs were created. Though all of these programs will claim to make solving the problem easier, you are not going to get the same options with all of them. There will be various approaches and solutions as you examine different types of programs. Because of this, you need to research about what each program can offer your computer before you decide to buy it.

Many computers have enough registry problems that they need a more serious scan. You might expect that you will need to scan and use the program repeatedly before you are able to clean up most of the registry on your computer. In other scenarios, if you are using truly reliable cleaners, you might be able to try various settings that will allow you to get most of the registry problems on the first scan.

All registry cleaner programs have to perform a scan before the real cleaning can happen. If no scan is occurring during the use of the program, then there is no way of knowing what the registry problems are. You might want to opt for using a cleaner that can tell you about specific problems after each scan. This will allow you to know what programs you should avoid using in order to prevent the problems from occurring again.

It is very important that you are able to choose a registry cleaner that is trustworthy. You need to understand that even though there are many cleaners available for use, not all of them are going to give you the best results. You will likely come across a number of programs on the internet that also claim to be cleaners but are disguised malware.

If you suspect that you are having computer crashes because of your registry, trying a few cleaner programs may be able to help you. Overall, the use of registry cleaners can be useful and important for helping you to solve problems with your computer. It is important to understand that these programs may not be able to solve every issue you are having. If you continue to have computer crashes, you may want to allow a technician to analyze your computer.

Now you can find all the information and details you require to make your computer run more efficiently when you use the best registry cleaners available. When you see the registry cleaners reviewed, you will be able to choose the best cleaner for your system.

Did You Know About Registry Cleaners

Many computer users want to know if they should use registry cleaners. Several computer experts say that it is a good idea to use a registry cleaner on occasion. They believe that computers will function better if a registry is employed.

The registry tracks the relationship among the computer operating system, the software in your computer, and the computer hardware. In simpler terms, the registry keeps track of your system settings and hardware configuration. It also keeps track of computer file associations, user preferences, and your computer downloaded software.

The reason you should use software to clean your registry is because the computer configuration settings can become a tangled mess of design and engineering over time. This results in a computer that runs slower and less reliably than when you first took it out of the box. It is common for the computer registry to build in size over a period of time.

This can lead to an unstable computer. If your system is slow to start up, this might be one symptom of an over sized registry. When you pare down your registry, your computer will run faster. This is the simple explanation of what is actually a very complicated process.

The software you utilize to clean your registry should allow you to back up your system before you start the cleaning process. Make sure to choose the system back up option before you move forward with the actual cleaning. The computer registry is very complicated and sensitive. You may have figured this out by now.

If you accidentally remove the wrong key from your system, you might not be able to reboot your computer and you will have to restore the whole system. You will be find various registry cleaning software online, some are free to use, while some you have to pay for. Some programs do more than simply clean your registry.

You will find software that also, besides clean your registry, will delete unnecessary files such as temporary files. You can safely delete these files if you need to free space on your hard drive.

Read the reviews on all of the registry cleaners you are considering using. The reviews will give you an idea of how effective a particular program is and if a non technical person should use it, or if it should be used only by those who have computer knowledge. If you know someone who is a computer expert, ask his advice on which software to use to clean your computer registry.

When it comes to cleaning unneeded software on your laptop, it’s important to get software known as registry cleaners. You can read our registry cleaners reviewed and see which ones work the better. You will find what your looking for.

Preventing Malware From Entering Your Computer

Malware is any type of software that enters your computer without you knowing and it does a lot of wrong thing. This is why the “mal” in malware stands for malicious (hence why its bad). Spyware on the other hand is used to collect information on you like your passwords, usernames, credit card accounts etc… For the purposes of this article were going to stick to talking about malware.

A lot of computers tend to have malware running on them without the users even knowing about it, and to make matters worse, they are one of the biggest reasons as to why your computer is running slowly. This is why it is critical that you have some form of software that will not only protect your computer when malware tries to enter into your computer, but it also has to be able to detect that there is malware on your computer and remove it. I personally use two different pieces of software, one to stop malware from getting into the computer and another to scan and remove malware once it has found its way onto my computer.

The first program is called Malware Bytes Anti-Malware (just do a Google search for them). This is the program that I use to scan my computer of any malware infections on the computer and it works perfectly. When you download the program, just perform a full scan so that it look through all of the files on your hard drive to see if they are malware or malware related. After that scan is done, if you want to do another scan in the future, a simply quick scan should do the trick.

The second program that I use is called Spyware Blaster (just do a Google search for it). This is a program that is used to protect your computer by trying to stop programs from getting their way into your computer. All you have to do is to just download and install the program and it will provide you with full protection. Just make sure to click on the Protection Status button and select Enable All Protection (its at the bottom). There is however, one downside to using the free version of this software – you have to manually go in and update it. Just click on the Updates button and select Check for Updates.

If you were to run a scan of your computer when you first download Malware Bytes Anti-Malware its very typical of you to get about 250 or maybe even more infections (assuming you have used your computer for a few months or longer without running a scan for malware). This is why it is critical that you perform maintenance on your computer at regular intervals.

Want To Make Your Slow Computer A Bit Faster? Try This Out.

Computer running slow? Starting to piss your off? Try tuning your virtual memory. See, your computer has a hard drive that it uses to store files like your computers operating system and your personal stuff. Then it has something called RAM which is space that it uses temporarily to open and work with files or programs. The problem happens when your computer runs out of space on your RAM to work with.

The RAM is used to work with programs and files when you open them, but when you run out of RAM your computer can either tell you that you cannot open any more programs or you can use something called virtual memory. Virtual memory is basically space on your hard drive that is being used like RAM. Keep in mind that the speeds on your hard drive are slower than the speeds on your RAM and is why its only used as a “secondary” temporary working place. The place on your hard drive that is being used like RAM is called a Paging File and that is what you need to configure if you want to make your slow computer a bit faster. Try this out:

If you using Windows XP, click Start, right click My Computer and select Properties. Click on the Advanced tab and then under the section that says Performance, click on Settings. In this window, click on the Advanced tab and under Virtual Memory, click Change. Look under where it says “Drive [Volume Label]” and make sure that C: is selected (it should be highlighted blue). Now look under Page file size for selected drive and select Custom Size.

Where it says “Total page file size for all drives section” look at the amount that says Recommended. What ever number it says is recommended, type that into both boxes where it says Initial Size and Maximum Size. Click Set and then Ok. Then Click Apply on the next window and OK.

If you are a Windows Vista user, start off by clicking Start. Now click on the Control Panel icon and on the left hand side make sure Classic View is selected. Double click on the System icon and on the left side of the window, click on the Advanced System Settings. Select the Advanced tab in that window and then under the small section that is labeled Performance just click on Settings. A new window should appear so just click on the Advanced tab and under the irtual Memory section, click on Change. Now uncheck the “Automatically manage paging file size for all drivers”. Pay attention to the area that says “Drive [Volume Label]” and make sure that C: is selected so that it is highlighted. Look under Page “file size for selected drive” and click on Custom Size. Under the area that says “Total page file size for all drives section” look at the amount that says Recommended. The number that it says should be recommended just type that into both boxes where it says Initial Size and Maximum Size. Now click on Set, then Ok. For the next window just select Apply and Ok also.
