Nabq Bay Holidays: History At Your Doorstep
Dahab on the eastern coast of Sinai has long been a popular destination and continues to be so as more and more people flock to Egypt for their summer breaks. Tourists on Dahab holidays will feel relaxed as they tan on the quiet beaches or enjoy a spot of windsurfing while they stare back at the coast with the breathtaking view of the Sinai mountain range in the background.
Even if your preference on holiday is to take it easy and not do too much, you can still find some excellent day excursions should you fancy something different. There are desert trips where you take a jeep into the vast landscape, home to Bedouins, who you can meet and purchase trinkets from. The desert here is a sacred place too – Mt Sinai featured in the Bible, and at the very foot of it stands St Catherine’s Monastery, which you can take tours of with audio-guides: a must for any visitor.
There are also some great national parks worth exploring, if you’re keen on some time in the outdoors, or getting close to nature. Nabq Bay holidays are perfect for this. With bird sanctuaries, nature parks and wildlife centres it’s easy to get up close to different species. The Ras Mohamed park in southern Sinai is a marine park, where you can see all kinds of marine life on the peninsula.
If it’s ancient sites that intrigue you, then Luxor holidays are the way to go. Discover the Valley of the Kings, and the ancient tombs it holds. Learn all sorts of fascinating facts at the mummification museum, and find out more about ancient Egyptian beliefs – such as why mummies were so well prepared for the afterlife.
The Luxor museum also holds some of the more precious items which were found in the tombs of the Pharoahs. See up close these well-preserved artefacts, such as statues, pots, vases, tools and even mummies.
